What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a method of healing through light touch which helps to promote the body's ability to heal itself. It is a gentle yet powerful technique for stress reduction and relaxation as well as personal development on all levels including spiritual.
Reiki is the life force energy that flows through all living things. When your life force energy is flowing freely you feel happy and healthy, if your life force energy is low you can become vulnerable to illness, stress and depression. Acupuncture, tai chi and yoga are all based on the free-flow of this energy in a person.
The healing art of Reiki is a practice that restores balance and harmony within the mind, body and soul by the channelling of healing energy through the hands of the practitioner, which accelerates the body's own natural ability to heal.
Who can benefit from a Reiki treatment?
Everyone can experience the benefits of a Reiki treatment. Reiki promotes physical, mental and spiritual well-being. All you need is a desire to heal. Animals particularly enjoy the experience of Reiki.
A Reiki Treatment.
A Reiki treatment is a very simple, non-intrusive process where the client remains fully clothed lying on a treatment couch. Light touch is used to chanel energy in a series of hand postions on or just above the body. Dignity is maintained throughout. A full treatment will normally last for approximately one hour. When the treatment is finished the client feels relaxed, refreshed and revitalised as the body's energy system becomes rebalanced. Each individual's experience of Reiki is different.
After a Reiki treatment it is advisable to drink lots of water and avoid strenuous activity immediately afterwards.
